Capital Development efforts allow the YMCA to expand its reach and multiply the impact of its programs and services. Expansions or renovations of existing facilities and/or the development of new facilities ensure that the YMCA is ready to meet the ever changing needs of our community.

Current Development Projects:

Arapahoe Aquatics Center – A new neighborhood gathering place

No doubt you have unforgettable memories from your childhood of long days by the pool with your family and friends. As you may have noticed, in recent years the Y community has been without an outdoor pool in the Boulder Valley area. Now a new era of family time by the pool is about to dawn as the Aquatics Center at the Arapahoe YMCA becomes a reality!

An outdoor pool and much more
Complete with spray park, zero-entry warm water recreational and teaching pool, lap pool, and social gathering area, the Arapahoe Aquatic Complex will allow the YMCA to address critically needed health and recreation opportunities for the East County community.

The center will add many benefits to our community. YMCA members from across the Boulder Valley area will again have a place to come together to connect with one another while area kids enjoy the great outdoors and their friends. Many will benefit from the addition of accessible swim lessons and water safety programs. Others will experience relief from pain while participating in water exercise programs to increase their health!

Our aquatics programs help youth go above and beyond by:

  • Building self-esteem and self-reliance—Encouraging personal growth.
  • Teaching Values—Developing moral and ethical behavior.
  • Improving Personal and Family Relationships—Learning to care about, communicate and cooperate with family and friends.
  • Appreciating Diversity—Respecting people of different ages, abilities, incomes, races, religions, cultures and beliefs.
  • Becoming Better Leaders and Supporters—Learning to give-and-take necessary work toward to the common good.
  • Developing Specific Skills—Acquiring new knowledge and learn ways to grow in spirit, mind, and body.
  • Having Fun—Sharing time with friends and family and connecting!
