The Boulder Y has been providing skateboarding programs for over 10 years with a focus on balancing safety with skill development. Campers are introduced to a variety of challenging techniques such as long boarding, downhill, street and park skating. Y Skate Camps and Programs allow for progressive skill building for ages 7 and up. This provides plenty of opportunity for skaters to return year after year to explore the next level of skating. Safety is our highest priority, therefore, campers are required to have proper safety equipment. Classes and camps are very small due to individual attention given to skaters. Register early!
Grommet Skate Camp
(Entering 4th-6th Grade)
Skaters meet each day at the Mapleton Y. We will travel to a variety of local parks to hone our skills and learn new maneuvers. We’ll also swim, learn how to assemble skateboards, create grip tape art, explore longboarding, learn to skate for transportation and play skateboard games! There is plenty of free skating time as well as structured clinics. Skateboarders should have some skateboarding skills and the desire to skate and learn every day.
Equipment Required: Skateboard, helmet, elbow, knee pads and swim gear.

Skate Quest
(Entering 7th-9th Grade)
Skaters meet each day at the Mapleton Y and travel to select skateparks. Campers will experience a variety of skate terrain and skill development. There is plenty of free skating time as well as structured clinics. We’ll also swim, create grip tape art and explore skateboarding history. The week finishes with a one night camping trip!

Mountain Skate Adventure
(Entering 7th-9th Grade)
Skaters meet each day at the Mapleton Y. We’ll spend two days honing our skate and camp skills in Boulder County. On Wednesday we hit the road for a three day, two night camping and skating adventure in the Rocky Mountains! Traveling from one epic skatepark to the next, we’ll cook our meals and camp under the stars.

2012 Skate Tour
(Entering 8th-12th Grade)
Five days and four nights of Skate Adventure! We will explore parks of Colorado including the southwest, mountain towns and the rides in our own back yard. Create the memories of a lifetime while we traverse the Rocky Mountains, camping and cooking under the stars and skating some of Colorado’s best skateparks. We will swim, explore the local towns and take a break for a dinner out. Space is limited.
