With a curriculum designed at Tuft’s University, utilizing the LEGO Mindstorms and NXT Robotics Program, Science & Technology Camp provides campers with the opportunity to explore, investigate, experiment, question and build while engaging in hands-on science activities.  A weekly field trip, swimming and outdoor games round out the weeks activities.

Beginning LEGO Robotics for Late Elementary Campers
(Ages entering 3rd-6th grade)
Campers will be introduced to basic science, engineering and technology concepts and learn how to use the ROBOLAB program.  Principles of design, stability and engineering systems are just some of the topics covered.  A field trip, swimming and outdoor games will complete the experience.  Activities and projects will change weekly.  No prior experience is necessary for campers to enroll in this camp.

This one week, introductory level camp is designed to interest and challenge middle school campers.  Engineering principles will be explored in small groups, using the ROBOLAB program to solve a variety of “challenges” that will test concepts of momentum, inertia, gearing and weight distribution.  A field trip, swimming and outdoor games will complete the experience.  Activities and projects will change weekly.  No prior experience is necessary for campers to enroll in this camp.

Advanced LEGO Robotics for Middle School Campers
(Ages entering 6th-8th grade)
This two week camp builds on the principles and experiences of the beginning middle school camp.  Through small group challenges, campers will continue to explore the concepts introduced in the one week camp as well as counterbalance, efficiency, precision, accuracy and repeatability. Campers will also do some work with the new NXT Robotic Program. The two week time period allows for a more in-depth exploration and understanding of these principles.  A field trip and swimming each week, along with outdoor games complete this camp experience.  Campers must complete Beginning LEGO Robotics before participating in this camp.
