Leaders in Training (LIT) (8th – 12th grade)
Leadership, job skills and team building are just a few of the things that the Leaders in Training (LIT) program will offer for teens. LIT’s will participate in an intensive two-week training, including two nights at Camp Santa Maria, to prepare them to be a valuable, volunteer member of the camp staff at one of three YMCA day camps:  Camp Chief Niwot, Sports Camp or Fun in the Sun.  Participants will be chosen through an application and interview process.  Applications will be available online or at both the Mapleton and Arapahoe centers beginning February 15th.  Completed applications are due April 16th.  Interviews will be scheduled for the end of April.  A minimum three week volunteer commitment to a camp is required upon completion of the training.

Let’s Dance! (7th – 12th grade)
Everyone can dance!  In this workshop you will have the opportunity to discover just how fun moving can be through a variety of classes and experiences.  Would you like to take a fun hip-hop class?  Ever wondered what it was like to tap dance?  Not only will you take fun classes, you will get to meet professional dancers and talk to them about their experiences. We'll also try break, modern and yoga!

Teen Amusement Adventure (8th -10th grade)
Field Trips, group activities, creative problem solving and encounters with other unique and creative teens are just some of the experiences at Teen Escape. The teens will visit amusement park attractions around the Denver area as well as create their own local adventures.

Get Your Fitness On! (7th – 12th grade)
Explore health and fitness at the YMCA.  We'll have a great time participating in fun and healthy activities like yoga, hiking, swimming, meeting with a personal trainer and so much more. Learn how to make healthy food choices, even on a budget, as we prepare lunch each day.

Girl Power (6th – 8th grade)
Find the super girl within yourself this summer!  Girl Power will include activities, workshops and experiences that will help you find your voice and bring you and your girlfriends closer.  Examples of activities are hiking, an overnight camping trip, roller skating, yoga, swimming and so much more!

Pay It Forward Camp (7th – 12th grade)
Do you want to give back to your community, but don’t know how?  Come check out different service learning projects with different organizations.  You will learn how to volunteer your time in a variety of activities.  Some examples include working with animals, trail maintenance and companionship to those in need.

Urban Art Creations (8th – 12th grade)
Come join us in the amazing world of Urban Art. Urban Art Creations is a visual workshop where students will learn to make stencils, junk art, decorate shirts through silk screening, learn how to graffiti and more!
