Girl Power

January 14th- March 4th, Thursdays 6:15pm – 8:15 pm

A healthy dinner will be served each week.

Who Am I? Body Image, Peer Pressure, Communication, Health, Friendships, Self-Esteem, Stress, Reaching Out, Tough Times, and Who I Am!  These in depth topics will be discussed over an 8 week program.   The girls will be in group sessions where they will be given the opportunity to feel empowered, gain self-awareness, develop coping strategies, improve problem-solving skills, understand that they are not alone, and learn to make healthy decisions. Week 1 (January 14th) Who AM I? Introductions, Icebreakers, Team Building Activities
Week 2 (January 21st) Media and Misconceptions Current and former models come in to discuss self image and misconceptions about the fashion industry.
Week 3 (January 28th) Exploration The girls control the topics on this small group discussion day.
Week 4 (February 4th) Service Learning Project The girls will determine this by our first meeting. We are giving the girls the power of choice to decide which service learning project they will be participating in. Some examples of Service Learning Projects may include, Sister Carmen, Beads for Life, Humane Society, Meals on Wheels.
Week 5 (February 11th) Sports & Education -As TV can be dominated with male sports participants, the possibilities are endless for females to strive in athletics and earn an education while doing so.  This week we will be joined by some All American Female Athletes who worked hard and strived for the best.  Their message- NEVER GIVE UP
Week 6 (February 18th) Health and Nutrition. A Nutritionist will come in to discuss the importance of eating healthy, while also teaching the girls how to make some delicious healthy meals.
Week 7 (February 25th) Goals and Aspirations  first Robyn climbed Mount Everest and now she will come in to help the girls achieve new heights
Week 8 (March 4th) Who AM I! – Celebration!

 

New Session starts April 7th, Wednesdays 6:15pm – 8:15 pm
This new 6 week program will explore healthy eating, the fashion and sports industry, media and misconceptions, staying true to yourself and wellness- mind, body, and spirit.

Girls in this program will build self-confidence, develop new friendship and strengthen existing ones, participate in a service learning project, and increase self-awareness.
Fees: Member $150; Non-Member $200
