The YMCA of Boulder Valley offers fun and educational Preschool Enrichment programs for your child. Our creative curriculum is designed to stimulate and provide developmentally appropriate opportunities for social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth that allow each child to participate at his or her own pace. Classes are taught by energetic, caring and highly experienced instructors in a structured setting, and will be a welcome addition to your child’s week at the YMCA. Children must be 3-5 years of age and must be potty trained to participate in classes.
ARTS
Art Smart Kids
Picasso, Seurat, Van Gogh, Klee....... just a few of the famous artists that your little artist will be introduced to as we learn about a variety of art concepts. Through stories, games and art projects, we will discover colors, lines, collage, shapes, pointillism and even still life. Advanced art concepts brought to the preschool experience- all while having a lot of fun!

Tasty Tales
We well turn up the heat on your child’s imagination while we cook up a storm of goodies. Each delicious, healthy, no-bake recipe is inspired by children’s story books and prepared by your little cook. Your child will have a great time learning the basics of cooking, pouring, measuring and mixing in this hands-on, culinary arts class. Your child will also be encouraged to taste test everything and is welcome to take a goody bag home for you to enjoy together!

Musical Munchkins
In this fun filled class your child will discover the joys of melody and movement as we learn new songs and groove to the music. We will be singing, playing, and exploring music through activities that include: call and response, sing along songs, rhyming, imitating sounds, and rhythmic chanting. This fast paced, interactive class is sure to have your child singing, clapping, moving and grooving.

Rainbow of Color
Your little one will learn about color as we explore the other side of the rainbow and discover how we get all our colors from the three primary colors. Lights, Camera, Action!
In this class make-believe is more than child’s play. This is the place where books come to life and songs are something to dance to as children explore ways to express themselves through movement. Music and stories are important building blocks that aid children in the development of creativity, empathy, self-esteem and problem-solving. Children are encouraged to wear their favorite dress up costumes, bring a stuffed animal friend, or be creative with the materials provided as we engage in interactive stories, music, games, and drama.

Lil’ Dancers
This footloose and fancy free class is a perfect introduction to dance and is designed to give your little one a life-long love of movement! Our beginner dance class focuses on basic dance techniques including: posture and balance, motor skill development, flexibility, and coordination. Your child will be encouraged to use their imaginations and their bodies to creatively express themselves through movement games, songs, and dance. Our dance class challenges children emotionally and cognitively while providing them with a high energy opportunity for fun and fitness!

Wiggles and Giggles
Children will be introduced to basic tumbling skills through stretching and guided movement in a fun, exciting and safe environment. Since tumbling is the basis for all gymnastics, this beginner level class will provide children with guided instruction and opportunities to creatively mimic movement patterns like, crab walking or bunny hopping. Fun, group games help reinforce the basic positions and make it easier to put together movements and create beginner tumbling skills.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game
Our recreational and non-competitive class gives your child an introduction to the world of organized sports: soccer, basketball, football, volleyball, golf, tennis, hockey, and baseball. Buggin’ Out!
This 4 part series is inspired by Eric Carle’s award winning children’s books. Each book stars a different insect friend that we’ll get to know and will inspire that day’s activity. Whether we are buzzing around playing games or acting like a creepy crawly bug, we’ll take a break to create a critter inspired project, such as a butterfly magnet or spider puppet. Born to Be a Giant
Join us as we travel back in time to explore a land before time. Learning about dinosaurs stretches the imagination and allows children to experience a world that is very different from the one they live in. We use dinosaur inspired crafts, activities, games, rhymes, songs, and books to bring the story of dinosaurs to life. Plus, your child will create their very own dinosaur with clay that they will get to take home.

ONE DAY, FUN DAY
Princess Tea Party
A dream is a wish your heart makes and this is every little kids’ dream come true. Drop off your child dressed as their favorite princess and we will take it from there. Each child will decorate a crown and a wand to keep. We’ll be dancing, singing, and giggling our way through this day of magic and make-believe.

A Pirates Life for Me
