Rotary Clubs at the Y

On May 31, 2011, the Boulder Rotary Club was selected by Rotary International to become one of 200 clubs worldwide to participate in the Satellite Club pilot program beginning July 1st. "In support of the RI Strategic Plan goal to 'foster club innovation and flexibility' the Board authorized these pilots to evaluate and measure the impact of alternative membership types and club operations have on member activities and engagement, membership growth and retention, improved member diversity, increased community and international service, increased support of The Rotary Foundation, and overall club effectiveness."

New Generations Rotary ClubThe goal of the Boulder New Generations Rotary Club is provide a way for young professionals to be involved with Rotary while making membership less of a financial burden. Our meeting time also caters to those who would have a hard time leaving work in the middle of the day to attend a meeting.

We meet every other Tuesday at 7:30pm at the Mapleton YMCA - 2850 Mapleton Ave, Boulder

While we do not have age requirements for our Club, we're targeting people in their 20s and 30s.

So far our projects have included working as race ambassadors at the 2011 Bolder Boulder, assisting CU's Engineers Without Borders Nepal team with a water sanitation and hygiene education plan for middle- and high-school students, volunteering monthly at the Boulder Homeless Shelter, and collaborating with the YMCA of Boulder Valley on their second annual Strong Kids' Triathlon for over 175 kids ages 2 to 15. This October we'll help at the Boulder Rotary Club's annual Signature Event to raise money for new community and international service projects.

Are you a young professional who wants to make your community a better place? Would you welcome the chance to expand your circle of friends at home and around the world? Are you looking for ways to hone your leadership skills and explore career opportunities?

Rotaract is an international program for adults ages 18 to 30 who want to make a difference. It was founded in 1968 by Rotary International, an association of clubs made up of service-minded business and professional leaders.

Rotaract builds leaders, and leaders build strong clubs with effective programs. Clubs carry out at least one community service project and one international service project each year. Clubs also organize communication and public speaking seminars, training programs for club officers, workshops to organize and promote projects, and informational sessions about Rotary International.
