You may have joined the YMCA of Boulder Valley for the pool or the ice rink or the gym. But there is so much more to the Y than just being a fitness center. There’s a wide range of fitness classes with options for everyone no matter their level of physical fitness. There are summer camps and after-school programs for children. But most importantly, there’s the impact the Y has in the Boulder Valley community — helping improve lives. Social Responsibility: Safety Around Water

After several drowning deaths at the local Head Start program, a partnership was developed with the YMCA of Boulder Valley with the goal of teaching all the children in their program water safety skills using the Y’s Safety Around Water curriculum. Since then, more than 600 children have learned skills and confidence in the water through YMCA Safety Around Water, and the impact has been immeasurable. Take a look!
