Find balance, build strength, breathe deep and relax. These Y classes ensure your mental and spiritual wellness get as much attention as your physical health. Students find relaxation and mindfulness while also fostering flexibility, balance, vitality, muscle elasticity and joint mobility.

MAT PILATES

Core strength, breathing, flexibility.

MEDITATON

15 minutes to promote mental clarity, relaxation and joy. Meditation is a commonly overlooked yet wonderful tool to enhance your well-being. To help you add some meditation to your program, we offer 15-minute meditation time slots. Please feel free to join in as you begin, finish or take a break from your workout.

MELLOW YOGA FLOW

Breath, movement, strength, flexibility and balance. Some familiarity of postures is needed for this class.

PILATES & BALLET FUSION 

Pilates and Ballet Fusion combines ballet poses with Pilates mat exercises to build abdominal and lower back strength while enhance agility and balance

PILATES & YOGA FUSION

Fused elements of Pilates and yoga for a balanced strength/flexibility workout.

PILATES POWER

Using only a floor mat and bare feet, this hour long class focuses on basic Pilates principles: core strength, increased flexibility, breath control and correct alignment to improve posture and strength.

PILATES REFORMER

Pilates Reformer at the Y provides members with strength, flexibility, coordination and endurance. More details.

PILATES SCULPT

This class focuses on muscular conditioning, posture and over balance with the use of various equipment to enhance overall structural training.

RESTORE & ALIGN

In this class you will focus on the fundamentals of alignment, refining your technique and building a strong foundation with both postures and breath work. This class is perfect for those new to yoga, individuals healing from injury or illness, or those looking for a more gentle class.

TAI CHI

In the tradition of ancient Chinese movement, this class is designed for those who are looking to add some balance, coordination and peaceful movement to their exercise program.

YIN YOGA

Poses, mostly on floor and held for longer amounts of time (ie. 2-8 minutes). Great complement to more “yang” exercises, such as running, hockey, weight training, etc.

YOGA

Yoga builds a strong body, mind and spirit. This class incorporates Yoga postures, breathing exercises and a mind focus to improve balance, strength and flexibility. Yoga props are offered to safely perform exercises. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

YOGA - GENTLE 

Gentle strengthening, balance, flexibility and relaxation.

YOGA - HIPS AND HAMS

This class leads you through a flowing series of postures to build strength, flexibility and endurance focusing on the lower body.

YOGA - INTEGRAL

Highly reflective practice; includes postures, breathing and meditation.

YOGA - SUNRISE

This energizing class is great for beginners to yoga who want to challenge their endurance and balance through a class focused on breath and flow. Be prepared to sweat a little first, and then find a deep relaxation afterwards.

YOGA FOR CANCER CARE

This class is for those who have been diagnosed with cancer and are currently in treatment or recovery. Students must complete a health questionnaire (available at the front desk or at carypaulyoga.com) before their first class. Yoga for Cancer Care is gentler than most yoga classes and is customized to the needs of the student. We work on strengthening the immune system, working through scar tissue, building strength and working with the various side effects of cancer treatments.

YOGA FOR PARKINSON’S

This class includes yoga, qi gong and other exercises specifically designed for people with Parkinson’s. We work on increasing range of movement, flexibility and improving balance. These practices are calming and have positive effects on the parasympathetic nervous system. Learning to move mindfully and bringing each movement to completion helps prevent falls. Practical issues such as getting up off the floor, crawling and rolling over are also addressed.
